The Elmwood school system, serving a total of 395 students in 2006, offers a full menu of activities and academics, including such diverse extracurricular activities as the Spanish Club and Cheerleading. Part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, Elmwood is as far removed from the bustle of the big city as one could imagine. The steep, wooded bluffs of the river valley are a natural treasure that contributes to an active, outdoor lifestyle that includes camping, boating, fishing, hunting and hiking.
