Residents of Lincoln benefit from the town?s proximity to the Eagle River, as well as some of the many lakes in Polk County. Access to a great variety of water sports and other outdoor recreational activities is close at hand. Anglers will enjoy fishing the nearby lakes and rivers, with a great variety of fish to be caught.

Polk Count itself offers plenty of attractions, with the St. Croix River and nearly 400 lakes and streams in the region. With ski areas, golf courses and other great recreational sites in the county, there is never-ending variety.

Education

Lincoln does not have its own dedicated school district; however it is served by several other local districts including the Amery and Unity districts. Several colleges and universities are located nearby, including the University of Wisconsin in River Falls, Stout, and Barron County, as well as a large number of higher education institutions in the neighboring state of Minnesota.

Real Estate

As in many other small towns and villages in Polk County, around 20% of homes in Lincoln were built prior to 1940. The town experienced a small upsurge in population as new homes were built between 1960 and 1980, and new residential construction is being added at a slow rate.

The majority of Lincoln properties are single family homes, with between two and four bedrooms, with a few smaller one bedroom residences suitable for singles and young couples. Lincoln, WI real estate is not always available, however there are many nearby towns and villages where property and vacant land can be purchased.
